Thanks They are mistaken, I have App Connect and Voice Control in my R, but I have the SatNav radio with Composition Media. I took it in and dealer updated the car software, the car found an iPhone 3 and a 5. I have a 2017 Jetta. I nearly vomited on the spot. Apple CarPlay is so easy to connect to, you simply plug your phone in and it should recognize if you have the CarPlay app immediately.
I am not sure what to do next, any advice? So is knowing where not to head due to road construction or heavy traffic. The result: In many cases, that overly expensive technology package is a waste of money. You can skip to the end and leave a response. Worked great on the way home yesterday, so not sure why it wouldn't yesterday morning, I am preferring the normal Bluetooth connection over CarPlay thus far. Rebooting both devices and trying again - same. Can't say whether you could still get MirrorLink etc.
It may take a moment to find your device, but once it does press your device name on the screen. Tired of answering the same questions time and time again? Not paying that for something that quite honestly should be included in the Composition Media upgrade in the first place. The screen stayed on after removing the key and locking the car. I am sending it in again in a couple days to have smash and grab installed just wondering if it's worth having app connect activated. One wasted half hour later Hey guess what, there's no menu option! Oh well, I'm sure one day all will be revealed and until then I'll just wait and live in hope. Possibly the most annoying issue is when you activate voice commands and the car asks you whether you want to make a call or a perform a variety of other tasks.
Must be my iPhone — No! The Phone app is simple, although fishing through the various menus and sub-menus should only be done when the car is stopped unless you have a strong desire to get pulled over. The clear advantage here is that the device's software is upgradable. I am using an official known good Apple cable. If you tap on the CarPlay app on the phone, Siri will ask if you want to call someone. It wouldn't be worth the expense just to get that option if I had to swap out my disco pro for Apple CarPlay alone. Pinging is currently not allowed.
Just this year, Volkswagen updated its infotainment center and introduced a new and improved version. This was certainly the case last year when we bought my wife's Tiguan and then my Golf. As of the 2016 model year, most car manufacturers offer vehicles that support or Google's , including Volkswagen. I disconnect and reconnect, nothing happens. And when you plug in your phone to access CarPlay, the Bluetooth connection is disrupted. Any help would be appreciated, really want carplay to work.
I haven't used Android Auto but Apple Carplay is not worth R3600 extra over what Composition Media already allows you to do via Bluetooth. Oh also when I try use the voice it says 'not available' is that a extra adding too? Knowing this, I recently bought a before the recent emissions cheating scandal erupted. I am sending it in again in a couple days to have smash and grab installed just wondering if it's worth having app connect activated. I have unpaired mine and deleted the car from the iPhone. In case it helps anyone else, I found that disabling bluetooth solved the problem for me. It worked great first 10- months I had car than stopped working. I believe the part number is 5G0054830A.
Completely straightforward and with real time location information. I reboot the phone, no go. R3600 for the code to unlock. An item that has been used previously. The only way to hot fix it is the method you mentioned.
Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk As per some of my earlier posts, having used App Connect and the normal Bluetooth connection, I don't think the extra money is worth it. Have also replaced cables, restored both phones to factory settings. Usually holding down the power button for 10 seconds will reset the console and enable the connection again. Given that many states have laws banning texting while driving as they should , this is important. Seems to be a few of us in the same boat here.
Yea its sometimes frustrating because all apps these days can play some sort of music so between the iPhone and Radio something gets confused. CarPlay takes the great look and feel of the Music app and shows it on the car's built-in screen. How do I get this to work reliably? With Google Voice, you operate everything by voice input, and you can listen to songs using Google Play Music, Pandora or Spotify, for example. Sometimes I hold the power button down on the stereo so that it will reboot- that fixes it sometimes too. The console will display a message that the phone connection was cancelled and asks if the phone is unlocked. Regards, Dave I'm having the same issue: Since at least 8. I'd still like to see Apple introduce a privacy mode that can be set before beginning to drive in case you have a passenger with you that you don't want hearing all your messages read out loud.
